The Clever Plan of Mulla Nasrudin
One sunny morning, Mulla Nasrudin was sitting outside his house, thinking deeply . His neighbor came rushing over and said,
“Nasrudin! Thieves have been stealing things in our area. You must protect your belongings!”
Nasrudin nodded seriously and said, “Don’t worry… I already have a clever plan.”
That night, instead of hiding his money inside the house, Nasrudin took a small bag, filled it with stones, and placed it right in the middle of his room. Then, he hid his real money safely in an old shoe under his bed.
Soon enough, a thief quietly entered his house at midnight . The thief saw the bag in the center and thought, “Ah! This must be where Nasrudin keeps his money!”
Excited, the thief grabbed the bag and ran away as fast as he could .
The next morning, Nasrudin’s neighbor came again and asked,
“Nasrudin! Were you robbed?”
Nasrudin smiled calmly and replied,
“Yes, the thief took exactly what I wanted him to take!”
The neighbor looked confused .
“What do you mean?”
Nasrudin laughed and said,
“I knew the thief would go for the obvious place. So I gave him something to find… while my real treasure stayed safe!”
The neighbor shook his head in amazement and said,
“Nasrudin, your cleverness saved you!”
Nasrudin replied,
“Sometimes, the best way to protect something is not to hide it… but to distract from it!”
